About

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to visit my website.

I’m Juliet Thomas, an Illustrator and Artist based in East London on the edge of the beautiful Epping Forest.

Originally from South Tyneside in the North East of England, I’ve loved making art since I was a tiny tot. Classmates at school would ask me to create little sketches for them, as a very shy child this gave me a huge confidence boost and sparked my dream of becoming an artist.

Encouraged by my parents I went on to study design and illustration at De Montfort university during the 90s.

I’ve been working for over 30 years as a professional illustrator and artist. I design greetings cards which are sold in independent shops across the UK, Europe, and the US, alongside a growing collection of prints and original paintings.

I’ve worked across a wide range of creative projects, including children’s books, magazine editorial, advertising campaigns, hand-drawn branding for small businesses, and even a jewellery collaboration.

I make characterful work inspired by nature, folklore, and everyday life with a whimsical twist.

I love walking around Epping Forest in my wellies, with my sketchbook and pencils, capturing the flora and fauna and imagining tiny worlds with thumb sized people who wear acorn hats and live peacefully amongst the ferns and fungi.

Alongside my art practice, I also work in journalism as a picture editor covering global news. In a world that can often feel heavy and overwhelming, creating art offers me a sense of escapism, calm, and hope. Painting and drawing allow me to disappear into my imagination for a while, a mindful and deeply therapeutic process that I cherish.
